I am not going to defend the sport that I am committed to more than a quarter of a century by trying to convince people it is the best one. I will just mention some facts that you might find very interesting about this almost one thousand years old game.

First of all, tennis has many health benefits. It improves both aerobic and anaerobic health, reduces body fat, strengthens your cardiovascular system and gives a great workout to large groups of muscles. This sport can be played outdoors which makes it even more pleasurable and healthy.
There are many social benefits related to playing tennis. You can meet new people by playing tournaments, leagues, high school or college tennis. Team championships are really popular with kids and adults because of social interactions. This is also a family sport, so it’s not strange to see an entire family on courts, playing singles, doubles, mixed doubles or burning calories on cardio tennis class.
This individual sport is really attractive for people who want to be able in a control of their own destiny. If you are at a competitive stage, you always have a chance to check your form in an official match. You just need to pay a tournament fee, sign in and show up at the site. It can also be a team sport when playing doubles.
Tennis is a lifetime sport and it is really easy to find a partner of your level, no matter what your age is.
In tennis, it can be really tough to predict a winner right away. Physical aspects are important, but there is a variety of skills and tactics you can use to win in tennis. Stronger, faster and taller players do not necessarily end up as winners. Mentally tough players have a big advantage!

If your children play tennis on a competitive level, don’t think they cannot succeed if they don’t turn pro. They will have a big opportunity to get a scholarship at some of US universities. There are almost 600 universities that offer tennis scholarships for both male and female players. Also, there are many job opportunities waiting for those competitive players later on, such as tennis assistant, instructor, coach, head coach or director. Just in the USA, there are 18 million people playing this sport on about 250,000 tennis courts across the country. Even people who started playing it late and didn’t play competitively in juniors age have a chance to pursue a career in most tennis jobs.
Tennis teaches kids good manners, it develops their creativity and problem-solving skills. It is played in almost every country in the world, having 1 billion fans, probably mostly because of one fact – TENNIS IS FUN!
